The Roswell Park Regional Continuing Medical Education (CME) Program was established to provide support and resources to community hospitals, physicians and other health professionals providing care for cancer patients in their own communities.
The mission of Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center’s "Continuing Medical Education Program" is to provide health professionals with the most current information relating to advances in the field of oncology. A high priority is assigned to the timely transfer of this knowledge to community practitioners, since they diagnose up to 80% of all cancers in their offices.
Roswell Park is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Continuing Medical Education (ACCME) to offer American Medical Association (AMA) CME credit for physicians. AMA credit often can be submitted by other health care professionals (e.g. nursing, PAs, pharmacists, etc.) to their respective accrediting agencies for reciprocal Continuing Education (CE) credit. The Center offers special CME conferences periodically, as well as regularly-scheduled CME activities such as Medical Grand Rounds (now available remotely in this COVID-19 crisis via WebEx).
As part of its regional educational support effort, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center provides Continuing Medical Education programs to aid physicians and medical staff in making decisions related to cancer diagnosis, treatment and follow-up care.
