About Charles Robert Plato

Biography:

Rob comes to Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center from the American Red Cross with over 20 years of award-winning business development experience and relationships in the pharmaceutical, biotech and diagnostic industries. Previous employers include Pharmacia (now Pfizer), GSK Oncology and Quest Diagnostics. During this time, he successfully launched seven new drug compounds and two new diagnostic tests to the market.

Rob has always been a Roswell Park mission supporter, because cancer runs in his family.

Rob is a graduate of Niagara University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management. He has also studied MBA course work at St. Bonaventure University. Rob accepted an ROTC Commission (as 2nd Lieutenant) in the US Army while serving in the NY National Guard as a Tank Platoon Leader. His unit was deployed during Operation Desert Storm. Incidentally, he was at Camp Shelby, Mississippi when he watched the Buffalo Bills lose to the New York Giants in the first of four Super Bowl appearances. (He still cannot believe it).
