Seasonal Self-Care: Harmonize Your Health with Ayurveda
Self-care is defined as the ability to promote and maintain health, prevent disease, and increase ability to cope, all tools that are especially important during times of stress. Ayurveda and yoga are sister sciences contributing to a traditional medicine system originally from India focused on disease prevention and self-care practices. The essence of the teachings is about living in balance with nature through simple guidelines and practice. Together, both Ayurveda and yoga are the application of science to enhance health and wellness at all levels of the person, especially the mind-body relationship to manage stress, increase coping skills, and promote positive health outcomes. This two-part workshop's is an introduction to these concepts with a theme on Self-care Strategies for Winter: Grounding and Stability.
