Annmarie Nowak, MBA, QBRS, PMP

With over 30 years of combined experience as a laboratory professional, research analyst, and software programmer, I bring a unique multidisciplinary perspective to biobanking and systems integration. For the past 15 years, I have focused my career on research and biobanking, and I now serve as Senior Director of Biospecimen Operations Management and Systems Integration at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

I recently earned the ISBER/ASCP Board of Certification Qualification in Biorepository Science (QBRS), further strengthening my expertise in advancing best practices for biospecimen management. My foundation in both laboratory science, systems analyst and project management allows me to analyze complex Biorepository business requirements with precision and translate them into practical, system-driven solutions. This knowledge base underpins my work in developing, coordinating, and streamlining workflows, databases, applications, and policies across databank and biorepository operations.

In my current role, I lead the operational and strategic planning of the Biorepository and Laboratory Services (BLS) Shared Resource. I leverage my analytical skills, programming expertise, and project management knowledge to implement, maintain, and enhance LabVantage LIMS, while also driving integration with other enterprise systems and applications. I have successfully managed large-scale projects that improved the efficiency, quality, and security of biospecimen operations, and I continue to focus on innovation, collaboration, and operational excellence.

I hold a Master of Business Administration with a focus on project management, as well as Project Management Professional (PMP) certification. I am involved in the CCSG application process and work closely with other Shared Resources, Subject Protection, Legal, Clinicians, and Researchers to assist in Translational Research. I serve on the Leadership team, several Shared Resource Advisory Committees, Roswell Park Biospecimen and Data Committee, and IT Research Committee.
