Featured speakers:
Dr. Ryan is a nurse practitioner and sexuality counselor who believes love and intimacy are essential to human happiness. She works closely with cancer patients and partners to navigate the physical, mental, and emotional challenges related to intimacy after a cancer diagnosis and treatment.
Her Saturday keynote presentation, How Do I Connect to my Body After a Cancer Diagnosis? will cover topics such as:
- How to feel safe and re-connect to your body after a cancer experience
- Overcoming mental challenges to positive body image and intimacy after treatment
- How to engage in comfortable conversations about sexuality
- Q&A with audience participation to address other important concerns
Ariel Aberg-Riger is a self-taught artist whose work has been featured in gallery shows, magazines, newspapers, apps, plates, and even in a hit card game. She is focused on using the power of visual storytelling to explore issues of equity and social justice, encouraging readers to think differently about history, science, policy, and the other forces that shape our lives.
Her Sunday storytelling workshop will introduce you to the medium of collaging, allowing participants to "chop up, reimagine, and make a new whole out of pieces that don’t always seem to fit, but complement each other in surprising ways. In this hands-on workshop, we’ll work to create a portrait that feels true, even when it looks absolutely wild."
