About Nancy Washburn

Biography:

She:kon, ionkiats Deyehedi:yaks. Hello, my name is Deyehedi:yaks, meaning "Crossing the Field." My English name is Nancy Washburn. I am Mohawk, Turtle Clan. My family roots are in Six Nations, ON, Canada. 
I graduated from D'Youville College in May of 2020, with my Bachelors of Science degree in Health Analytics. I currently work as a Patient Care Navigator in the Department of Indigenous Cancer Health at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, servicing The Tuscarora and Tonawanda Band of Seneca communities. 
As a Patient Care Navigator I work with community members who are in seek of cancer screening, help along their journey with a cancer diagnosis, and assistance through survivorship while adjusting to post cancer treatments. We Navigators are with our patients during every step on the cancer care continuum.
