The Paint Box Project is now proud to partner with Arts In Healthcare for art parties and projects. The Arts in Healthcare Initiative was established by the University at Buffalo Center for the Arts in collaboration with Roswell Park Cancer Institute in September of 2008. The Initiative brings arts programming to the patients, visitors and staff at Roswell, transforming the hospital environment and encouraging physical and emotional well being. The act of engaging in creative activities allows for self expression, stress reduction, enhanced communication and provides overall distraction. Artists work daily with the hospital population in waiting areas as well as at the bed side and intimate patient care areas. To learn more about the Arts in Healthcare Initiative please visit www.ubcfa.org or email email@example.com.
Art parties also offer the opportunity for patient-artists and their families to learn about art and artists, from the most famous—Van Gogh or Monet—to the lesser-known but still fascinating. Most importantly, art parties give our patient-artists the chance to connect with other patients and families, take a break from the rigors and stress associated with living with cancer, and find a comforting outlet in creative expression.
If you are interested in helping us create lasting memories and want to host an art party or donate art supplies, please contact the Arts In Healthcare program at 716-845-1550 or email firstname.lastname@example.org. Thank you for your support and generosity!
