The purpose of this activity is to provide updates in oncology treatment practices and management of toxicities relevant to palliative care, targeted and cellular therapies. The program is led by pharmacists and also focuses on medication safety and social determinants of health

Learning objectives

Following this program, participants should be able to:

Pharmacists:

• identify various indications for novel therapeutic options in oncology.
• describe the use and identification of administration of novel agents to ensure optimal patient safety
• identify the role of the pharmacist in selection and use of novel treatment agents in oncology.

Physicians:

• Understand novel treatment updates in hematology & oncology
• Identify gaps in patient care pertaining to new treatment modalities for hematology & oncology patients
• Apply preventative & treatment management strategies for toxicities associated with the discussed treatment modalities

The University at Buffalo School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education as a provider of continuing pharmacy education. The “Pharmacy Department Oncology Symposium 2025”, a knowledge-based activity, has been assigned ACPE# (coming soon), and will award 5 contact hours (0.5 ceus.) of live continuing pharmacy education credit. No partial credit will be awarded.

Please notify the CME office if you are unable to attend. No refunds will be issued for cancellations after September 15, 2025.
