Biography

I am a Research Assistant Professor of Oncology and Director of Population Health Outreach in the Department of Medicine. I focus on addressing the burden of cancer in our community by improving access to high-quality, comprehensive cancer care. This includes a focus on cancer screening and cancer survivorship, as well as whole-person care along the cancer continuum. I am responsible for implementing and testing different models of Survivorship care across a statewide network of oncology practices.

I am an epidemiologist, health services researcher and implementation scientist with extensive experience in multi-level evaluations, including quantitative data collection and analysis and mixed methods research. My experience includes working in multidisciplinary teams to address population health problems and working with diverse community and academic partners to advance research and health-related programming.

My research focus includes the application of Implementation Science principles to address barriers to care access for rural populations by better understanding social, neighborhood, and contextual risk factors for inadequate healthcare access, particularly rural cancer survivorship care. I use existing data to inform major gaps in knowledge related to healthcare access and utilization and work with clinical and administrative teams to identify data-driven priorities for cancer screening and survivorship and to build and implement programs in our communities.
