Description of Duties

Identification and Functional Analysis of Novel Genetic Interactions and Vulnerabilities in KRAS Mutant Solid Tumors. The Cancer Genetics and Genomics Department at Roswell Park Cancer Institute is searching for an ambitious PhD biologist for a postdoctoral research project in the Identification and Functional Analysis of Novel Genetic Interactions and Vulnerabilities in KRAS Mutant Solid Tumors. Projects will be oriented around one or some combinations of the following topics: identification and characterization of novel tumor suppressor genes and/or oncogenes; and the study of their dysfunction mechanisms (focusing on epigenetics and tumor metabolism) in lung cancer and/or pancreatic cancer (e.g., using cell culture, animal models). Genomic screening using custom lentiviral CRISPR or other small RNA libraries in xenograft models. Pre-clinical therapeutic studies for development of data to support early phase clinical trials. Self-motivated and detail-oriented individuals with appropriate training background in cell and molecular biology are encouraged to apply. The candidate’s research would be supervised by Edwin Yau, MD, PhD, Assistant Professor of Oncology. Position offers independence as well as important collaborative opportunities. Position is available immediately.
