Description of Duties

A Postdoctoral position is open for a highly motivated candidate in the laboratory of Dr. AJ Robert McGray in the Department of Immunology. The project will focus on developing and optimizing strategies for the delivery of immune cell engagers (e.g. BiTEs) targeting the tumor and/or tumor stroma as potent cancer immunotherapies. The selected individual will use both in vitro systems and in vivo mouse models to develop, validate, and therapeutically test immune cell engagers. While a primary focus of this research will be to develop therapies that can be translated clinically to treat ovarian cancer, projects are anticipated to be broadly applicable to other tumor indications and will involve parallel studies in other disease areas. Experiments will involve the analyses of immune cell changes in response to immune cell engagers and will require use of preclinical models and primary clinical specimens to test candidate therapies. The successful candidate will be involved in all aspects of project design and research,  preparation of scientific manuscripts and grant applications, and is expected to develop first author papers and contribute (as a co-author) to publications by other team members.

Qualifications

The candidate should have a PhD in immunology (or a related field) or be nearing completion of their degree. Individuals should have first author publications that demonstrate their scientific abilities, with expertise in cancer immunotherapy or general immunology (and related assays) as a key requirement. Experience in molecular biology and prior use of mouse tumor models is preferred, but not required. The candidate must be able to work independently, develop and carry out multiple scientific projects simultaneously, and possess strong interpersonal skills.

Applicant Instructions

Interested applicants are invited to submit a cover letter highlighting their past research experience, career goals, research interests, as well as their CV to ajrobert.mcgray@roswellpark.org
