April Seymour, MA

Department of Indigenous Cancer Health

Biography

She:kon/Hello, my name is April Seymour, Wolf clan from Akwesasne Mohawk Nation. For the past 15 years, I have worked with Akwesasne families in numerous capacities such as caseworker, community outreach worker and family services. I thrive on building relationships, understanding the unique needs of our Haudenosaunee people and connecting individuals to resources. I am also a Reiki master and love helping others by uplifting their mind and spirit, through many forms such as healing energy, conversation and hands-on cultural arts. My hobbies include playing softball and creating beaded moccasins. Cultural teachings, nature, and indigenous art inspire my creations. With my formal education and knowledge about our traditional lifeways, I hope to fully utilize my skillset to lead others on their healing path.
