Ankita Kapoor, MBBS

Specialty: Hematology
Hematology/Oncology Fellow (Class of 2025)

Biography

Throughout medical school and residency, my time taking care of cancer patients taught me that it was not just the pathophysiology and newer cancer therapies, but the unique relationship oncologists form with their patients that drew me to the field.

I would like to become a clinician investigator with a focus on targeted therapies for hematologic malignancies. My goal is to study cancer survivorship care and improve the quality of life of cancer survivors as they transition from treatment to recovery. I chose Roswell Park based on its excellent track record of patient care, and the ability to immerse myself in a caring and compassionate environment. At the same time, it offers various research and mentorship opportunities which will help me achieve my career goals of becoming an independent clinical investigator.

Born and raised in a tropical country, I was initially wary of Buffalo’s weather. But now, after being in upstate for three years, I could not be happier with what we have. All four seasons have their own charm. In my free time, I enjoy exploring various hiking trails in the Western New York area. I also love to spend time with my family and friends
