Biography
After shadowing a gynecologic oncologist in clinic for half a day in my first year of medical school, I knew that I had found the patients I want to care for and the diseases I want to treat. Since then, I have been working toward becoming a gynecologic oncologist, and I am thrilled to be continuing my training at Roswell Park.
Originally from the near-Chicago suburbs, I attended Haverford College just outside of Philadelphia. There, I majored in Chemistry, with a focus on biochemistry and the synthesis of novel tuberculosis drugs. I also minored in Health Studies to examine the interplay between health, disease, and social justice.
I later received my MD from the University of Illinois at Chicago. Afterwards, I completed my residency in Obstetrics and Gynecology at the University of Chicago. Over the years, my research projects have examined sociodemographics of risk reduction surgery uptake in BRCA carriers, diagnosis of gynecologic lymphomas, peri-operative constipation management, and practices of trauma-informed care by gynecologic cancer providers.
I am so excited to join the team at Roswell Park, not only because of the amazing resources for my research interests like the Familial Ovarian Cancer Registry, but also because of the high-level surgical training, cutting edge clinical trials, and the holistic and compassionate approach to caring for our patients -- the reason we do this.
