Long-Time Care Manager Joins Roswell Park in Director Role

BUFFALO, N.Y. — Highlighting its commitment to outstanding care and superior patient experience, Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center welcomes veteran healthcare provider Christine O’Mara, BSN, CCM, as Director of Transitions of Care.

Christine brings over 20 years of experience in clinical care and disease management to Roswell Park, having previously worked at Catholic Health Systems and Kaleida Health. Her focus is to enhance the transition of inpatients in and out of a hospital stay, seamlessly coordinating their experience — from the moment they walk through the doors to discharge. In addition, she will work closely with our Value-Based Care team, optimizing inpatient stays for both long-term and low-acuity patients.

“Christine has incredible sensitivity to the needs of our patients, who have so much weighing on them as they face a hospital stay,” says Mary Ann Long, RN, MS, Senior Vice President of Nursing at Roswell Park. “We do everything we can to lighten those burdens and anticipate their questions, and Christine is wonderfully suited to lead that work.”

Christine holds a bachelor of science degree in nursing from the University at Buffalo.
