In times of need, and in times of joy, we join together

At Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, we open our doors to support our community in the name of health, wellness and creating a better world.

We believe our greatest strength comes from our people: Every single member of our staff works together to help provide the best care for our patients, who are at the heart of our mission. As a community our strength comes from our diversity, and from our history of being a welcoming beacon of hope and opportunity for everyone searching for optimism, comfort and new beginnings.

We are excited about the wonderful new opportunities waiting just around the bend and are eager to see what 2024 brings!

Community Outreach & Engagement Center Creates Neighborhood Access for Information

It took just under a year to complete the newest facility on Roswell Park’s downtown Buffalo campus — a stunning new Community Outreach & Engagement Center at 907 Michigan Avenue. The project, which involved preservation of a home in Buffalo’s historic Fruit Belt neighborhood, is headquarters for our Community Outreach & Engagement team. The center houses services focused on advancing health equity and improving health outcomes for communities across Western New York, including cancer awareness, educational programs, navigation to cancer screening, financial wellness programming and space for community gatherings.

The grand opening was a joyous day filled with stories and thanks as we opened a new way for our neighbors to access the care and assistance they need from our outreach teams.

New Center in Amherst Expands Access to Expert Care in Northern Suburbs

We were thrilled to cut the ribbon on the spectacular new Roswell Park Scott Bieler Amherst Center in September, just 18 months after breaking ground on the new state-of-the-art, 30,000 square-foot facility that will bring exceptional care and treatment options to patients in the northern municipalities of our region and beyond. With gratitude and deep thanks to our generous longtime supporter Scott Bieler, President and CEO of the West Herr Automotive Group, the beautiful freestanding center offers clinical space for consults with experts in multiple cancer specialties, in addition to an infusion center, lab testing, diagnostic radiology and a specialty pharmacy.

Community Screenings Help Reach Underserved Neighbors

This past year, our patient care navigation team from the Office of Community Outreach & Engagement (COE) reached more than 2,000 community members focused on breast health and breast cancer screening. The navigation team screened more than 400 women for mammography at more than 20 monthly community mammography events. Additionally, Roswell Park has placed patient care navigators in all the Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHCs) in our region. Last year, these navigators provided close to 2,000 screening services supporting early detection of breast, colorectal and lung cancer. Thanks to Eddy — Early Detection Driven to You — a mobile low-dose imaging unit, Roswell Park helped screen more than 1,000 people across Western New York in its first full year of operation.
