    Christy Paddon joined the Blood and Marrow Transplantation Program at Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) in 2005 as a social worker.  Christy has previous work experience in the Skilled Nursing Facility setting addressing the needs of residents and their famiy members on the long term care units, the dementia unit, and of patients involved in the short term rehabilitation program.

    At RPCI, Christy's responsibilities include the assessment and education of patients and caregivers in preparation for transplant, offereing support to patients and families in conjunction with the Psychosocial Oncology Department, connecting patients to community services and financial resources, and coordinating the lodging needs of patients required to stay in the Buffalo area for treatment.

    Christy earned her Master's degree in Social Work with an emphasis in Gerontology from the University of Pittsburgh, PA in 2001.  In addition, she holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Child Development from the University of Pittsburgh.  Christy obtained a NY State License in Medical Social Work in 2006.
