Outcomes Superior to the National Average

Patients treated at Roswell Park Cancer Institute for acute myeloid leukemia (AML) and chronic myeloid leukemia (CML) had five-year survival rates that were superior to the average national outcomes reported in the National Cancer Data Base (NCDB). (Statistics based on patients who survived at least five years after receiving a diagnosis between 1998-2002.)

Setting the Bar

Our physicians are among the experts who set the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Guidelines that prescribe the best ways of preventing, detecting and treating specific types of leukemia. The NCCN Guidelines for leukemia are the most widely used standards in the United States.

If you should need a blood or marrow transplant, you’ll be in good hands. BlueCross BlueShield of Western New York has named Roswell Park a Blue Distinction Center for Transplants® — one of only 83 in the nation and only three in New York State with this designation for blood or marrow transplants.
