My name is Dr. Shilpa Jain and I’m a pediatric hematologist/oncologist specializing in non-malignant hematologic disorders at Roswell Park.
In addition to my role on the non-malignancy hematology team at Roswell Park, I serve as the Pediatric Medical Director of the Hemophilia Center of Western New York in Buffalo, NY. I’m a Clinical Assistant Professor in Pediatrics at the Jacobs School of Medicine and Biomedical Sciences at the University of Buffalo and an Attending Physician in the Division of Hematology and Oncology, UBMD Pediatrics, Oishei’s Children’s Hospital.
I have published journal articles and book chapters on the topic of non-malignant hematologic disorders and presented on a variety of hematologic topics, such as sickle cell disease, hemophilia and bleeding disorders in adolescents and women with heavy menstrual bleeding.
I earned my MBBS in Medicine/Surgery at Delhi University in New Delhi, India and my MPH in Public Health at John Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. I completed my residency in Pediatrics at Children’s Hospital of Michigan in Detroit, MI and my fellowship in pediatric hematology/oncology at the Children’s Hospital of Pittsburgh of UPMC in Pittsburgh, PA.
I am the Clinic Director of the Specialized Hematology Experts (SHE) Clinic at the Hemophilia Center of Western New York in Buffalo, NY. This clinic is dedicated to women and young girls who are evaluated by a multidisciplinary team consisting of a hematologist and an OB/GYN. I also hold professional memberships to the Hemostasis and Thrombosis Research Society, the American Academy of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology, the American Society of Hematology, and the Foundation for Girls and Women with Blood Disorders.
