Dr. Mikhail Chernov has been leading Small Molecule Screening Shared Resource (SMS) since the first day it was established in 2007. He played a major role in establishment and further development of the facility. Over the years SMSR expanded the collection of screening compounds to over 100,000 and added new state-of-the-art screening platforms including Alpha-Screen.
Over the last 15 years, Dr. Chernov has been involved with or directed a number of drug discovery projects resulting in scientific publications and successful funding. His main area of interest is in high throughput screening of small molecule libraries, development of new readout assays and their adaptation to high throughput format.
Brian Buckley has been with the facility since 2009. His main duties include day-to-day management of the SMSR, maintenance of chemical libraries, screening equipment and cell culture, and troubleshooting of assay systems and readouts. Brian is also available to provide training and technical assistance to users of the SMS.
