Nicotine and Tobacco Product Assessment Services and Fees
NicoTAR services can be provided by facility personnel:
- Assistance in the selection, design, and execution of NicoTAR experiments
- Assistance in processing and interpreting NicoTAR data
- Training and instruction for all users
A wide range of NicoTAR assays is available, including:
- Nicotine analysis in combustible tobacco products, smokeless tobacco products, shisha, and Nicotine Replacement Therapy (NRT) products (including patches, gums, lozenges, etc.)
- Nicotine analysis in Mainstream (MS) and Sidestream (SS) tobacco smoke
- Nicotine analysis in e-cigarette vapor or solutions/cartridges
- Nicotine analysis in indoor air (marker of secondhand exposure)
- Measurement of particulates (PM2.5 and PM10) in indoor air (markers of secondhand exposure)
- Nicotine analysis on deposited surfaces (marker of thirdhand exposure)
- PGVG concentration determination in e-cigarette solutions/cartridges
- Flavoring identification (qualitative) and menthol (quantification) in e-cigarette solutions/cartridges
- Nicotine salt identification in e-cigarette solutions/cartridges
- TSNA’s analysis in e-cigarette solutions/cartridges and tobacco products
- Cotinine and trans-3'-hydroxycotinineanalysis in urine, saliva, and plasma (markers of exposure)
- NNAL analysis in urine (markers of exposure)
- Carbon monoxide measurement in exhaled breath (verification of smoking status)
- Moisture in tobacco product
- Cigarette ventilation and pressure drop
- Cigarette paper porosity
- pH in e-cigarette solutions/cartridges
- Density in e-cigarette solutions/cartridges
- Air-liquid interface systems to expose cell lines to tobacco smoke and e-cigarette vapors
- Systems for whole body exposure of small animals to secondhand tobacco smoke
- Metal Testing (Pb, Ni, Cr, and Cd) in whole tobacco, e-liquids, and Urine
- E.L.I.S.A. to determine cytokine concentration in media or THC concentration in urine
- Planning and collaboration for specialized experimental procedures specific to current human subject studies, both clinical and non-clinical.
Qualified users enjoy 24 hours / 7 days a week open access to:
