About Shalana O'Brien

Biography:

As a surgical oncologist, I have been trained to offer individualized and comprehensive treatment to patients with cancer. I focus on treating patients with melanoma/skin cancers, endocrine disorders and cancers, and using heated chemotherapy (HIPEC) to treat advanced cancers that have spread within the abdomen.

At Roswell Park, there is a great team dynamic. Our goal is to work together to best take care of our patients. With the experts in each field under one roof, as a cancer center, it is easy for us to combine the best clinical care with cutting edge research. Communication is key with any serious diagnosis and it is my responsibility to make sure our patients have all the necessary information to make important treatment decisions and that these decisions are accurately conveyed to all members of the team. I am proud to join an amazing group of surgeons at Roswell Park in treating members of the WNY community and beyond.
