About Safet Lekperic

Biography:

I completed my Diagnostic Radiology residency at Mt. Sinai Hospital in New York, NY, and later completed his Vascular and Interventional Radiology fellowship at RUSH University Medical Center, Chicago, IL.

I am a board-certified interventional radiologist whose interventional oncology background brings significant clinical insight into the assessment, staging, and management of oncology patients. My research focused on Interventional Oncology as it relates to the treatment of Hepatocellular Carcinoma (HCC) with Y90 radioembolization. I've co-authored over a dozen peer-reviewed journals and abstract presentations. I was also a recent awardee for the 2020 Top Doctor Award from Buffalo Spree.

I chose Interventional Radiology (IR) because it is the future of medicine. No other specialty offers the ability to treat and medically manage so many different diseases and organ systems. As an Interventional Radiologist, you are the expert of the image, the procedure, and most importantly, the patient’s care. I work within a team structure with other physicians to provide patient-tailored service to the community. The field of IR is becoming more and more central to the long-term care of patients. In a specialty with such a bright future, I am thrilled to be able to help the people from Western New York and beyond that come to Roswell Park for care.
