Robotics Training

Roswell Park is a Center of Excellence for robotic surgery. It is the first institution in the United States to be accredited as a Training Institute in Robot-Assisted Surgery by the Société Internationale d’Urologie (SIU). Surgical teams from around the globe come here to develop their skills under the guidance of RPCI’s robotic surgery experts. By enhancing surgical capability, RPCI provides patients with better clinical outcomes so they can return to active, productive lives more quickly.

Roswell has also developed several training tools to help surgeons learn better and faster:

  • First-ever video-based textbook on robot-assisted surgery
  • Training software called “Hands-On Surgical Training™”(HOST)
  • The revolutionary Robotic Surgery Simulator (RoSS)
  • World’s first virtual training and research program

To date, teams from Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Switzerland, Germany as well as those from University of Michigan, University of Miami, Duke University, University of Pittsburgh, among others, have participated in Roswell Park robotic training and mentoring programs.
