About Psychosocial Oncology

The Psychosocial Oncology Department at Roswell Park offers services to all patients and families. We are committed to providing the best psychosocial care to all who seek treatment here by addressing the social, environmental and emotional impact of cancer.

The variety of services offered ranges from individual counseling, support groups, advanced care planning, discharge planning/nursing home and rehabilitation placements, hospice information and referrals as well as resources and referrals for financial concerns, parenting issues, disability concerns, legal concerns, intimacy issues, transportation and lodging, and interpreter services. We can assist patient and families in coping with anxiety, fears, depression, life changes and practical challenges that come with a cancer diagnosis. We connect patients with internal Roswell Park resources and community agencies which can address challenges and barriers you may face.
