Support Groups

Support groups provide an opportunity for patients, families, and friends to discuss concerns, ask questions, share information about Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) and community services, and relate experiences coping with cancer.

Roswell Park’s Support Groups

BMT (Bone Marrow Transplant) Caregiver Support Group

On hold until further notice.

Tobacco Cessation Support

Drop-in tobacco cessation booster sessions open for everyone. No appointment necessary.

When: Every Friday of the month • 12-1 p.m.

Location:  Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Room H1320

Tobacco Cessation Classes

Support and education for people interested in quitting tobacco.

When: Mondays • 12-1:30 p.m. • 6-7:30 p.m.

Location:  Research Studies Center, Prevention Center Conference Room

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group

Support and education to patients with oral and head and neck cancers.

When: Every 3rd Wednesday of the month • 4:30-6 p.m., *No Further meetings until 9/16/15

Ostomy Support Group

Education and support to patients and caregivers adjusting to managing an ostomy.

When: Every 2nd Wednesday of the month • 12:30-2 p.m.

Location: Main Hospital, Jacobs Family Conference Room (Room 1320)

Leukemia Lymphoma MDS & Myeloma Family Support Group

All blood cancer group patients, friends, family are welcome, *Does not meet in June & July

When: Second Thursday of the month • 6-7:30 p.m.

Caregiver Support Group

For people who care for a loved one with cancer.

When: Every Wednesday of the month • 6-7:30 p.m.

Look Good . . . Feel Better

This group helps cancer patients cope with appearance-related effects of their treatment by offering skin, hair, and nail care tips; make-up techniques; and wig, scarf, hat, and turban demonstrations. The program is coordinated by the American Cancer Society; the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association; and the National Cosmetology Association.

The program is offered monthly.
