Support Groups

Support groups provide an opportunity for patients, families, and friends to discuss concerns, ask questions, share information about Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) and community services, and relate experiences coping with cancer.

Breast Cancer Support Group

Are you a breast cancer survivor? Attend this free networking support group and talk with other breast cancer survivors about their experiences.

When: Every first Wednesday of the month • 6:30-8:30 p.m.

Location:  Roswell Park Cancer Institute, Resource Center (1st floor within the Sunflower Café)

Engaging the Spirit Support Group

A Pastoral Care support group for adults whose lives have been touched by cancer. It is open to people at any point in their cancer journey. A diagnosis of cancer often brings up feelings of loss, sadness, anger, and fear. Cancer can also raise important questions about life and questions of a spiritual nature.

When: Once a month on Wednesdays • 6-8:30 p.m.

Head and Neck Cancer Support Group

Support and education to patients with oral and head and neck cancers.

When: Every 3rd Wednesday of the month • 4:30-5:45 p.m.

Lung Cancer Caregivers Group

For people who care for a loved one with lung cancer.

For people who have a current or past diagnosis of lung cancer.

Multiple Myeloma Support Group

Interested patients, caregivers, family members & friends are encouraged to join us!

When: Every 3rd Tuesday of each month • 6-7:30 p.m.

Education and support to patients and caregivers adjusting to managing an ostomy.

When: Every 2nd Wednesday of the month • 12:30-2 p.m.

Tobacco Cessation Classes

Support and education for people interested in quitting tobacco.

Young Adult Support Group

For young adults (18-39 years old) with cancer. 

When: Every 2nd Thursday of the month • 6-7:30 p.m.

Look Good . . . Feel Better

This group helps cancer patients cope with appearance-related effects of their treatment by offering skin, hair, and nail care tips; make-up techniques; and wig, scarf, hat, and turban demonstrations. The program is coordinated by the American Cancer Society; the Cosmetic, Toiletry, and Fragrance Association; and the National Cosmetology Association.

The program is offered monthly.
