Meet the Team

Our staff consists of social workers and support staff to support you during your cancer journey. 

Clerical Staff 

Clerical staff may be the first people you encounter when contacting our department. Our staff can assist with getting you connected with your social worker, and provide information about transportation, lodging, and foreign language resources.

Experts in networking, education, advocacy, research, and resource development, oncology social workers provide a variety of psychosocial interventions that enhance quality of life and survivorship of persons with cancer and their families. These services are designed to assist groups and communities as well as individuals through counseling, stress and symptom management, care planning, navigation, education and advocacy.

Social Work Staff (BSW)

BSW social workers provide consultation, and information and referral to assist patients and families in making the transition from the hospital to other levels of care including skilled nursing facilities, sub-acute rehab facilities, mental health facilities, group homes, or assisted living facilities.

Licensed Social Work staff (LCSW/LMSW)

LCSW/LMSW Social Workers offer the following services: psychosocial assessment, counseling, distress management, linkage to community resources, assist in coping with your diagnosis and lifestyle adjustments related to your diagnosis, assistance with advanced care planning, facilitating communication between you and your medical team, and consulting with other staff to identify and work within the social, emotional and economic factors related to the patient’s health situation. Social work staff is knowledgeable about challenges you may face and resources available to assist you. Social workers may meet with patients as part of a routine assessment during your clinic visit or inpatient stay. They may also assist with transportation, lodging, language assistance, and transitioning from the hospital to another level of care.
