Nursing Roles in Ambulatory Clinics
Solid Tumor Medicine/Surgery Clinics:
- Head & Neck
The nurses are committed to providing comprehensive care for surgery and medicine patients throughout the care continuum. They are skilled in recognizing side effects of medications and surgery complications.
Chemotherapy Infusion: The nurse is knowledgeable about the many disease sites for cancer and chemotherapy/biotherapy regimens.
Dermatology: The nurse is knowledgeable about skin cancer prevention, skin related cancers and treatments.
Liquid Tumor Clinics:
- Bone Marrow Transplant
- Multiple Myeloma
- Infectious Disease
Nurses are skilled in recognizing hematological treatment regimens, side effects, oncological emergencies, performing blood product transfusions and IV conscious sedation for bone marrow biopsies and wound care.
Supportive Services: The nurse works closely with our pain, palliative care and psychosocial teams to provide cancer patients with support.
