ASHP Extends Accreditation for Roswell Park Pharm Residency Program

The American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) has extended its accreditation of Roswell Park’s postgraduate year-two pharmacy, or PGY2, residency in oncology.

Established in 2007, Roswell Park’s pharmacy residency program gives participants the opportunity to develop expertise and advanced knowledge in pharmaceutical care for hematology/oncology patients within the context of an interdisciplinary approach that involves health-care providers in both inpatient and outpatient settings.

“Our residency program in oncology pharmacy is an integral resource for the whole Institute,” says Program Director Mei Ka Fong, PharmD, BCOP. “Programs like ours open up doors of opportunity for pharmacists looking to focus on oncology and contribute to the delivery of outstanding, multidisciplinary care for cancer patients.”

Roswell Park appoints two pharmacy residents annually, and is now accepting applications for 2015-16 residencies. More information about Roswell Park’s program is available here.
