See Grand Island from Your Bike with The Ride For Roswell

Fundraiser takes cyclists through Beaver Island State Park in support of Roswell Park

BUFFALO, NY - Cyclists from throughout Western New York are invited to take part in The Ride Grand Island, a biking fundraiser that takes participants on a scenic tour of Grand Island while raising funds for cancer research and patient support programs at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. The Ride Grand Island will be held on August 21, 2011, in Beaver Island State Park.

The Ride Grand Island offers routes for cyclists of all ability levels. Participants can choose from a 3-mile, 12-mile, 25-mile or 50-mile route. All routes start and end in Beaver Island State Park. Registration fee is $10 for all participants, plus a pledge minimum of $25 for current Extra Mile Club members (those who raised $1,000 at the June 2011 Ride); $50 pledge minimum for any riders who participated in the June 2011 Ride or The Ride Spinning Event 2011; and $100 pledge minimum for all new riders.

The Ride Grand Island is part of The Ride For Roswell’s Fitness Club initiative, a year-round program that aims to promote a healthier lifestyle for supporters while giving them new opportunities to raise funds for Roswell Park.

The Roswell Park Alliance Foundation, founded in 1991, is a 501(C)(3) not-for-profit organization formed to receive and administer funds supporting scientific and clinical research, state-of-the-art medical care, and patient-related activities at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.
