Roswell Park Named to ‘Great Oncology Programs’ List

Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center has once again been included on Becker’s Hospital Review’s 100 Hospitals and Health Systems with Great Oncology Programs, an annual list of centers that are national leaders in patient care, cancer outcomes and research. “These hospitals and cancer centers stand out in terms of quality patient care, clinical outcomes and research achievements,” Becker’s notes in a press release.

In selecting facilities for its Great Oncology Programs feature, the Becker’s editorial team analyzed data from U.S. News & World Report cancer rankings, CareChex rankings, BlueCross BlueShield Association Blue Distinction Center designations, National Cancer Institute designations, Commission on Cancer accreditations and awards received and membership in the National Comprehensive Cancer Network.

“The Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center, considered a revolutionary model of a multidisciplinary approach to cancer, was founded in 1898 as the nation's first cancer center. Roswell is now a National Cancer Institute-designated Comprehensive Cancer Center and ranked in the top 50 in the nation for cancer care by U.S. News & World Report for 2015-16,” Becker’s notes in its description of Roswell Park, available here.
