BUFFALO, N.Y. — Roswell Park is holding a Nursing Open House on Thursday, June 7. The cancer center is inviting experienced nurses to attend. The open house is an opportunity for them to learn about oncology nursing, and hear from those who work at the cancer center.

Roswell Park is looking for nurses with one year of oncology experience, one year of critical care experience or three years of medical-surgical nursing. Anyone interested in attending the open house is advised to bring their resume, dress appropriately and prepare for potential on-site interviews.  To register, visit RoswellPark.org/NursingOpenhouse

“I encourage any nurse who is interested in establishing a career in an environment that supports their growth as a professional registered nurse and wants to experience the best that nursing has to offer, to consider attending this open house.  Being able to help cancer patients as they go from diagnosis through treatment is an extraordinary position to be in as a nurse. The nurses here at Roswell Park work hard each day to care for the patients with dignity and compassion,” says Shirley Johnson, MBA, MS, RN, the Senior Vice President for Patient and Nursing Care and Chief Nursing Officer at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center.

The Nursing Open House is taking place on Thursday, June 7 from 3-7p.m. at the Gaylord / Cary Conference Rooms in the Research Studies Center at Roswell Park. Free parking is available. Attendees are encouraged to park in the main parking ramp across from the main hospital on Elm and Carton Streets in Buffalo. Parking tickets will be validated.
