Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center Appoints Physician in Thoracic Surgery

Elisabeth Dexter, MD appointed as Director, Community Thoracic Oncology Outreach Program and Thoracic Surgery Training Program

Buffalo, NY – Elisabeth Dexter, MD has joined the department of Thoracic Surgery at Roswell Park Comprehensive Cancer Center. Dr. Dexter comes to Roswell Park from SUNY Upstate Medical University and Veteran’s Administration Medical Center in Syracuse, New York, where she served as an Associate Professor of Surgery and Chief of the Division of Thoracic Surgery.

Dr. Dexter completed her residency in cardiothoracic surgery at University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics. She also completed two fellowships: the first in thoracic surgery at the Mayo Graduate School of Medicine and a second in cardiac surgery at Massachusetts General Hospital.

Dr. Dexter is the co-author of three textbooks on thoracic surgery. She serves as a peer reviewer for several prominent journals and is a presentation reviewer for the annual meeting of the Society of Thoracic Surgeons.
