Roswell Park Cancer Institute Ranked Among Nation's Best for Patient Satisfaction in Press, Ganey Survey

BUFFALO, NY - Roswell Park Cancer Institute (RPCI) ranks in the 96th percentile nationwide for overall patient satisfaction, according to the 2009 Press, Ganey Inpatient Satisfaction Survey, which rates more than 1,000 hospitals across the country. RPCI's score was even higher when compared to other nationally top-ranked cancer hospitals and Magnet Nursing-certified hospitals that took part in the survey.

“Press, Ganey is the leading-and largest-organization in the country that surveys patient satisfaction,” says Dana Jenkins, RPCI's Vice President of Organizational Performance Improvement. “Partnering with them gives us the ability to compare Roswell Park against a large number of community, academic, and ambulatory-care providers.”

“Most important, we worked with other top National Cancer Institute-designated comprehensive cancer centers to develop a Press, Ganey comparison group. This allows us to identify best practices, learn from one another, and improve our patient care.”

Patients at RPCI rated the Overall Rating of Care Received and Likelihood of Recommending the Hospital to Others in the 99th percentile. The Physician and Nursing sections of the survey also earned scores in the 99th percentile. The rating means Roswell Park scored higher than 99% of the other organizations included in the survey.
