Gowanda Harley-Davidson to Donate $14,000

Motorcycle enthusiasts and cancer advocates raised $14,000 at the sixth annual Tony Reid Memorial Mileage Challenge on Oct. 17 and will present the funds to Roswell Park on Thursday.

Gowanda Harley-Davidson and Chef’s Restaurant hold the event each year to raise funds in memory of Tony Reid, the late owner of the Gowanda Harley-Davidson. Reid was diagnosed with a rare type of lymphoma in 2006; fought a hard battle; and lost his battle in 2009. In the past six years, his family and the two local businesses have raised more than $75,000 for Roswell Park’s research and patient-care programs.

Organizers of the event will donate the funds to Roswell Park at 5 p.m. on Thursday at the Gowanda Harley-Davidson, located at 2535 Gowanda Zoar Road. Owners of the store Paula Rosen, Robert Reid and Marty Reid, as well as a Roswell Park representative will be at the event.
