Speaker: Leslie Bernstein, PhD - Physical Activity and Breast Cancer: Biology, Epidemiology, SerendipityIn addition to her other research and academic pursuits, Dr. Moysich hosts an annual lecture series in honor of Dr. Julie Baker, a talented and much loved and respected student, physician, and researcher who did her medical and epidemiology training at UB and Roswell Park. Julie passed away in 2011 at the age of 39. The annual lecture series in her honor is open to faculty, staff, students, as well as members of Dr. Baker’s family and the public.
Previous speakers in this series have included Dr. Jean Wactawski-Wende, the Dean of UB’s School of Public Health and Health Professions (2015); Dr. Roberta Ness, Dean of the University of Texas School of Public Health (2014); Dr. Germaine Buck-Louis, Director of Epidemiology, Statistics, and Prevention Research at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (2013); and Dr. Maureen Phipps, Chair of the Brown University Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology (2012).
