Biography

I have been a member of the Roswell Park family in the Department of Gynecologic Oncology since 2012. Born and raised in Western New York, I attended both undergraduate and medical school at the State University of New York at Buffalo. I was fortunate to have first class training in obstetrics and gynecology at the University of Hawaii, in Honolulu for my residency training. However, I had always hoped to return home to Roswell Park Cancer Institute, and was humbled to be accepted in their gynecologic oncology training program, a four-year fellowship.

I will be entering my fourth year of advanced training that focuses on all aspects of gynecologic cancer care, including advanced and minimally invasive surgical techniques, chemotherapy, cancer screening and surveillance, as well as basic science research concentrating on prognostic biomarkers in ovarian cancer and tumor immunology.

Returning home to care for women in the Western New York region has been an honor and dream come true. My areas of clinical interest include uterine, ovarian, cervical, vulvar, and vaginal cancer. However, my passion lies in not only treating a patient’s cancer, but also in optimizing one’s quality of life while undergoing cancer treatment. As each patient's definition of quality of life is unique, this fosters a distinctive patient-doctor relationship that supports a comfortable and open environment to optimize cancer treatment.

I am a Board Eligible Junior Fellow of the American Congress of Obstetricians and Gynecologists, as well as a member in several professional organizations, including the Society of Gynecologic Oncology, Gold Humanism Society, the American Medical Association’s political action committee, the Buffalo Gynecologic and Obstetric Society, the Medical Society of the State of New York, the American Society of Clinical Oncology, and the American Medical Association.
