The Shashikant B. Lele, MD Endowed Fellowship in Gynecologic Oncology is in honor of Dr. Shashikant Lele. It is a three to six month rotation for international graduates at the Assistant Professorship level who have completed Obstetrics and Gynecology residency training within the last five years. The fellow will be exposed to radical surgery, radiotherapy and chemotherapy. The main priority is to offer high caliber training to ensure outstanding medical and surgical care is available to women in areas where doctors have less specialty in treating cancers.
The application deadline is March 31 for the upcoming academic year which begins July 1. We accept two to four fellows annually.
Applications are accepted from all over the world with the understanding that knowledge gained in the United States will be taken back to the fellow's home country and practice.
The fellow will not be employed or reimbursed in any manner and will personally cover all expenses and fees during observation. As part of the Shashikant Lele Observership, housing and airfare will be arranged and paid for.
