Ex Vivo Optical Imaging For Evaluation Of Tissue Obtained By Transbronchial Biopsies Of Peripheral Lung Lesions

The primary objective of the study is to assess the ability of tri-modal optical spectroscopy system (DRS, DFS and DCS) to enhance discriminating malignant from benign tissues that are obtained by transbronchial biopsies of peripheral lung lesions. We will perform ex vivo analysis from DRS, DFS and DCS measurements on lung tissue specimens from transbronchial biopsies of peripheral lung lesions.Secondary objectives are to determine sensitivity and specificity of each parameter that can be derived with these modalities (such as optical absorption, scattering, blood volume, diffusivity, etc) and combination thereof for the optimal tissue discrimination.
