Description of Duties:
The Senior Programmer/Analyst performs intermediate level computer application development and supports requirement gathering effort, writes code, and tests and supports multiple programs and systems at the same time. The Senior Programmer/Analyst will be familiar with version control software and other best practices for software development using SDLC methodologies. The Senior Programmer/Analyst will also work directly with departmental stakeholders and will support the various research initiatives of the Biostatistics & Bioinformatics department as directed by senior leadership.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in computer science, management information systems or a related field and the equivalent of four years of full-time experience in programming of mainframe or PC information systems as it relates to technology used at the organization. The preferred candidate will have a Master's Degree and experience and a successful track record working within a research environment. They will also have experience working with research data using ETL processes (extract, transform, and load) and a strong background supporting researchers as a programmer using Python and SQL (PostgreSQL).
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
