Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist supports clinical and scientific research throughout the organization, assists with or conducts experiments and procedures under the direction of a supervisor, and presents findings including preliminary interpretation for further review. They also input clinical and research information into the designated database system and conduct routine maintenance of equipment and machinery as needed. The Research Technologist assists with design and performs research experiments as requested by the PI and performs tissue culture work, in vivo animal work, FACS analysis, real-time PCR, sequencing, protein analysis (Western blot, immunofluorescence, immunoprecipitation), microscopy, following established biosafety guidelines. They also update databases of cell and animal models and prepare reports as required.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting. The preferred candidate will have experience in tissue culture, animal techniques, DNA sequencing, histology, and PCR/qRT-PCR. They will also have a strong attention to detail.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
