Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist will perform technical laboratory work using human biological specimens/cell lines and cancer mouse models. Duties include designing, collecting and processing experimental data, assisting with specific research procedures, developing and troubleshooting new techniques that have been written, and proposing alternative experimental procedures. He/she will also set up, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment, and maintain lab records and spreadsheets as required. He/she will also assist in the preparation of related records (graphical and text), contribute to the development of grants and manuscript within the laboratory context, and contribute to the management and training of more junior laboratory staff and/or students. Familiarity with Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, required. This position is temporary with the potential to become permanent.
Applicants must possess a Master's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline; or a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting.The preferred candidate will have proficiency in tissue culture techniques and assays, molecular biology (protein/DNA/RNA manipulation), and experience with lab animals, specifically handling and performing injections of mice.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
