Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist collects and processes experimental data, assists with specific research procedures, develops and troubleshoots new techniques that have been written, and proposes alternative experimental procedures. The Research Technologist also sets up, calibrates, and performs routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment, maintains lab records and spreadsheets as required, and assists with lab maintenance.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting; or a Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and thirty graduate credits leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate clinical or scientific discipline. The preferred candidate will have experience with molecular biology techniques including protein, DNA and RNA manipulation and analysis techniques, experience working with lab animals including injections and animal handling, and proficiency in tissue culture techniques.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
