Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist collects data for experiments and calculates research studies and records, assists with planning specific research procedures, develops and troubleshoots new techniques that have been written, proposes alternative experimental procedures, and sets up, calibrates, and performs routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment. The Research Technologist also maintains lab records, lab inventory and ordering of supplies and assists with lab maintenance and training of new lab members.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting; or a Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and thirty graduate credits leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate clinical or scientific discipline. The preferred candidate will have experience managing mouse colonies/lab animals, including injections and general animal handling. They will also have proficiency in tissue culture techniques and experience with immunology-based techniques (flow cytometry, immune cell isolation and manipulation).
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
