Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist conducts laboratory experiments and routine laboratory maintenance under the supervision of Dr. Yue Wu in the Department of Urology. The Research Technologist will perform experiments using cell culture, ex vivo tissue culture, and in vivo models. They will also handle clinical tissue specimen and animal model specimen, and prepare samples for next-generation sequencing, and metabolites analysis using ELISA and Mass-spectrometry. The Research Technologist will perform experiments using biochemistry and molecular biology approaches.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting; or a Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and thirty graduate credits leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate clinical or scientific discipline. The preferred candidate will have at least three years experience in a laboratory setting and at least one year experience in cell culture, basic molecular biology and biochemistry techniques (agarose gel electrophoresis, Western blotting, spectrometry, flow cytometry, etc.). They will also have experience in Immunohistochemistry.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
