Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist will collect data for experiments and calculate research studies and records, assist with planning specific research procedures, develop and troubleshoot new techniques that have been written, and propose alternative experimental procedures. The employee will set up, calibrate, and perform routine maintenance on specialized laboratory equipment ; maintain lab records, lab inventory and ordering of supplies; and assist with lab maintenance and training of new lab members.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting or a Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and thirty graduate credits leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate clinical or scientific discipline.
The preferred candidate will have proficiency in tissue culture techniques and in basic molecular biology techniques (weste blot, PGR, cloning); experience with laboratory animals including general laboratory mouse handling and injections, excellent written communication skills, the ability to work collaboratively with others, and willingness to train other trainees.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
