Description of Duties:
Health Research, Inc. (HRI) Roswell Park Division is seeking a full-time Research Technologist. The Research Technologist will perform technical laboratory work including human bio specimen handling with aseptic techniques, to develop, characterize and employ cancer models in support of funded grant application. Duties include: utilizing quantitative techniques to analyze cancer models for therapeutic sensitivity; operating and caring for laboratory equipment; maintaining laboratory supplies and related inventory; preparing standard media, cultures, reagents, and solutions; participation in and performing assigned phases of scientific research projects; preparation of related records (graphical and text); contribute to the development of grants and manuscript within the laboratory context; contribute to the management and training of more junior laboratory staff.
Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting; or a Bachelor's degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and thirty graduate credits leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate clinical or scientific discipline. The preferred candidate will have proficiency in tissue culture techniques, experience with cancer research and experience with mouse colonies and general animal handling.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
