Description of Duties:
The Research Technologist will participate in a translational research laboratory focused on preclinical testing of novel small molecules in human malignancies and investigation of Rab proteins in human malignancies. The Research Technologist will be responsible for routine laboratory equipment maintenance, maintaining inventory and ordering laboratory supplies and preparing standard media, cultures, reagents, and solutions. The Research Technologist will also compile and perform data analysis.
Applicants must possess a Bachelor’s degree in a clinical or scientific discipline and the equivalent of one year of full-time experience in a laboratory setting; or 30 graduate credits leading to an advanced degree in an appropriate clinical or scientific discipline.
The preferred candidate will have at least two years of laboratory experience as well as experience with RPCI purchasing and record-keeping. The preferred candidate will also have experience with si/shRNA transfection and recombinant protein production, experience with confocal microscopy, possess good communication skills, strong computer skills and the ability to multi-task and work independently. The preferred candidate will also have experience in cell culture and sterile techniques, molecular biology (Western Blot, RT-PCR, RNA/DNA extraction) and in vitro assays (cytotoxicity, ELISA, flow cytometry).
