Description of Duties:
The Research Associate coordinates and conducts research procedures for multiple studies, conducts screening and informed consent, administers assessments and conducts timeline follow-back interviews, and serves as the project coordinator and primary project contact and oversees all administrative, research and scheduling activities. The Research Associate attends research team meetings, weekly meetings and works closely with Dr. Sheffer, the team and the coordinator to ensure that all procedures are being carried out as planned, supports multiple research protocol efforts, develops a thorough knowledge of each research study, is responsible for the set-up and operation of the instruments involved in each study, records and checks results for completeness and accuracy, and troubleshoots problems as necessary. They also may supervise or participate in the technical training of new staff and students in the laboratory, demonstrates basic laboratory techniques to laboratory assistants and technicians, research fellows, residents and students, reviews research literature for pertinent information, and attends conferences and course to keep abreast of research field.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree and the equivalent of eighteen months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of thirty months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment. The preferred candidate will have experience with human subject protocols for clinical trials and with conducting literature reviews.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
