Description of Duties:
The Research Associate performs a variety of routine and specialized laboratory tests and experimental procedures, assists with planning specific research procedures, develops and troubleshoots new techniques, collects data from each experiment, calculates results of research studies, records information appropriately, and presents findings including preliminary interpretation for further review. The Research Associate also maintains established laboratory policies, procedures and required protocols, assists in manuscript and grant writing, maintains laboratory equipment and supplies, and orders inventory as needed. They also participate in technical training of new staff and students on lab procedures and safety training.
Applicants must have a Master’s degree and the equivalent of eighteen months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment; or a Bachelor’s degree and the equivalent of thirty months of full-time professional research experience in a laboratory, clinical or scientific research environment.
This is a grant-funded position. Compliance with funding requirements such as time and effort reporting, grant deliverables, and contract deliverables is required.
